Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native, born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. Perry was forbidden to perform by her parents until the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the strain it might result in. Perry confessed that she wasn't confident in her acting during high school. However, she began acting to meet new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she landed small roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The feeling of homesickness brought Perry back to California and theater roles were available. Perry was a part of Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, she starred together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was a part of nine episodes of ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, Perry had the role of a political thriller Scandal along with her father. She played the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was an additional portrayal that was younger of her mother. Despite her family link to the character, she was offered the role through an audition.
